1. Overview
Welcome to Smart Clipboard & Text Expander ("the app"). The app is built local-first: everything you store — clipboard history, text snippets, folders — lives only on your device and is never uploaded to any server operated by us.

2. Data we do NOT collect
- Your clipboard / snippet content: stored entirely in a local database (SQLite) on your device. There is no account, no cloud sync, and we cannot access that content.
- Personal identifiers: no email, phone, name, or account sign-up is required to use the app.
3. Third-party data processing
To keep the app free and reliable, we integrate two third-party services:
- Advertising — Google AdMob: the app shows banner and rewarded video ads (rewarded ads unlock Pro temporarily). AdMob may collect data such as the Advertising ID, device type and language in line with Google's policies. Your clipboard content is never used for ad targeting.
- Crash reporting — Sentry: when the app crashes we receive anonymous technical reports (crash info, OS version, device model) to fix issues faster. These reports do not contain your clipboard or snippet content.
4. Device permissions
- Clipboard read: required for the core "clipboard history" feature; reading happens only locally on your device.
- Biometrics (fingerprint / face): optional; used only to lock the app. Biometric data is managed by the OS — the app never stores it.
- Internet: needed only to serve ads (AdMob) and send crash reports (Sentry).
5. Backup & encryption
The Export backup feature writes your data to a backup file encrypted with AES-256-GCM; the passphrase is set by you and derived via PBKDF2. We do not store your passphrase — if you forget it, no one (including us) can recover that backup. You may erase all data at any time by clearing the app data or uninstalling the app.
6. Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.
7. Your rights
Because all data resides on your device, you fully control viewing, exporting, backing up and deleting it. For third-party data (AdMob/Sentry), you can reset your Advertising ID in system settings or opt out of personalised ads following Google's guidance.
8. Policy changes
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Updates will be posted on this page with an effective date. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
